When: Jan 25, 2011, 11:15 AM
Where: NH State House, Room 301 NH LOB
Can you take an early lunch to help NHSEA save the PACE program tomorrow?
PACE (“Property Assessed Clean Energy”), which was enacted last year, enables municipalities to establish revolving loan funds to finance energy efficiency and renewable energy projects for both residential and commercial properties. PACE incentivizes energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements that create local jobs for contractors and energy installers.
Tomorrow, January 25 at 11:15, the NH House Municipal & County Government Committee will be reviewing HB 144, a bill to eliminate authorization for energy efficiency and clean energy districts.
Repealing PACE now would take an important tool away from New Hampshire towns and cities before most NH communities would even have have the opportunity to vote on it. HB 144 is important to preserve this locally controlled vehicle by which New Hampshire Communities can determine their energy future, and control costs for their taxpayers.
Please come to tomorrow’s hearing and join NHSEA in opposition to HB 144. Thank you.
