The Vermont Public Service Department Announces Next Three Meetings of Energy Generation Siting Policy Commission

Montpelier, VT – The fourth informational meeting of the Governor’s Energy Generation Siting Policy Commission will take place on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in the Capitol Plaza Montpelier Room, Montpelier, Vermont.  The agenda for the meeting will cover perspectives from participants in the Section 248 permitting process.

The Commission’s fifth and sixth informational meetings will take place Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. and Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 1:00-4:00 pm. Both will be held in the Pavilion Auditorium, Montpelier, Vermont. The December 6th meeting will continue the focus on Section 248 participants’ perspectives, while the December 19th meeting will pick up the discussion from the Commission’s last session regarding other states’ energy generation siting processes.

These three meetings are informational sessions for the Commission; additional information sessions and public hearings will be held in January and February.  All meeting times and other information will be posted on the Commission’s website,http://sitingcommission.vermont.gov/home .  All meetings of the Commission are open to the public. Any member of the public who requires reasonable accommodation should make his or her request to Michelle Hughes at (802) 828-3065 at least three business days before the meeting date.

DRAFT STRATEGIC PLAN FOR CLEAN ENERGY DEVELOPMENT FUND RELEASED

Montpelier, Vermont – The Department of Public Serve has released a draft of the five year strategic plan for the Clean Energy Development Fund (CEDF) inviting stakeholder comment, pursuant to 30 V.S.A. § 8015

The draft plan takes into account the rapid developments in Vermont’s renewable energy markets and charts a course for the Fund over the next five years that is focused on building a sustainable clean energy economy in Vermont.

The plan has been emailed to stakeholders and posted to the Public Service Department’s web site: http://publicservice.vermont.gov/index.html.

Comments on the draft will be received until Monday, December 10, 2012.  Comments can be sent to the CEDF Manger Andrew Perchlik either electronically to:  andrew.perchlik@state.vt.us  Or via post to:

The Clean Energy Development Fund Board will meet on December 12, 2012 at the Department of Public Service at 1:00PM to review and discuss the draft plan, any comments received, and any revisions of the Plan.

The CEDF was created by the Vermont Legislature in 2005 to increase the development of renewable energy.  By statute, the CEDF Board is charged with approving a five-year strategic plan, annual budget, and annual program plan for the Fund.
