Vermont Public Service Department Announces Schedule Revisions and Additions for Upcoming Public Hearings and Meetings of Energy Generation Siting Policy Commission
The Governor’s Energy Generation Siting Policy Commission has rescheduled its sixth deliberation meeting, which was originally scheduled for March 20 but was postponed due to inclement weather. The meeting will now take place on Thursday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Catamount room (N215) of the Agency of Natural Resources, Davis Building (at National Life), 1 National Life Drive, Montpelier.
As a result of the postponement, the March 29 public hearing will also be postponed. It will now take place on April 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., still via Vermont Interactive Television (VIT), at any of the following VIT locations: Bennington, Brattleboro, Lyndonville, Middlebury, Montpelier, Newport, Rutland, Springfield, St. Albans, White River Junction, and Williston (note the addition of Rutland and the slightly later time). The April 3 deliberation meeting and public hearing will still take place as scheduled. The deliberation meeting will be from 1-4 p.m. in the fourth floor conference room of the Asa Bloomer state office building, 88 Merchants Row, Rutland. The public hearing will be from 5-7 p.m. at the Rutland Intermediate School Auditorium, 63-65 Library Avenue, Rutland. Finally, two more deliberation meetings have been scheduled, one for Tuesday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the second for Tuesday, April 16, also from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., both in the Giga conference room, 3rd floor, VT Public Service Dept., 112 State St., Montpelier.
The Commissioners continue to deliberate upon options to address their charges. The Siting Commission continues to welcome comments, which should be submitted no later than, and preferably before, April 8, 2013. Comments can be made using the Open Comment Form at http://sitingcommission.vermont.gov/public_involvement.
Dates, times, and locations of Commission meetings and public hearings are subject to change. Interested parties are encouraged to consult the Siting Commission’s website, http://sitingcommission.vermont.gov, for any updates. All meetings of the Commission are open to the public. Any member of the public who requires reasonable accommodation for the April 3 meeting or public hearing should make a request by 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 28. Requests for accommodation for the April 8 public hearing should be made by 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 2.
