Thermal Solutions for Commercial, Industrial and Residential Buildings
The old energy silos of electricity, transportation and heating and cooling our buildings continues to blur – especially so for thermal applications. Net zero, energy efficient, high performance, and Passive House designs continue to blaze the path for how we plan, build and manage our structures – from homes, to commercial applications and industrial facilities. Reaching Vermont’s 90% by 2050 renewable energy goal will require combining high-efficiency buildings with technologies like on-site solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, air- to ground-source heat pumps, and Modern Wood Heating.
Presentations include case studies of the Guilford Sound and Vermont Performance Lab campus, the complete “rebooting” of the Waterbury State Office Complex, an overview of the “Net Zero Ready Mobile Home Replacement” structures now manufactured in White River Junction, and “The Simple Economics of Net Zero Buildings”.
Architect Bill Maclay will be signing his new book “The New Net Zero: Leading-Edge Design and Construction of Homes and Buildings for a Renewable Energy Future” on Thursday afternoon.
